Port Blair, March 20: Missile firing practice will be held on March 21, 2024 from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs. The safe flying height is 30000 meters AMSL. Fishing vessels have been informed not to venture into the area during firing.

Port Blair, March 20: The vessel Nalanda which sailed from Kolkata is expected to arrive at Port Blair tomorrow (Mar. 21) at 0600 hrs. She has on board a total of 199 passengers, 135 MT cargo and 4 containers. On arrival at Port Blair, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

Port Blair, March 19: The Chief Electoral Officer, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS, visited the Election Duty Certificate (EDC) Centre set up in the Office premises of the District Election Officer, South Andaman today and interacted with the staff and explained the procedure of EDC forms. The CEO was informed that as per Rule 17 of Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, "Voter on Election Duty" means any polling agent, any Polling Officer, Presiding Officer or other public servant, who is an elector in the constituency and is by reason of his being on election duty unable to vote at the Polling Station where he is entitled to vote.

Acting on received intelligence, indicating that an individual namely Amal Dey was stockpiling a large quantity of illicit liquor behind the jungle near his rented hotel and engaging in the illegal sale of alcohol. On this Sh. Shiju Kumar, SHO PS Billiground along with his team initiated a covert investigation to verify the information. Following confirmation, a meticulously planned raid was executed by the team near Harinagar, opposite to PHC Billiground. Initially, the team recovered 8 bottles of 180 ml IMFL bottles hidden behind the hotel. Subsequently, a thorough search of the surrounding area, near the hotel, led to the discovery and seizure of a total 110 Nos. IMFL bottles.
